The Muni Update
Sep 21, 2025

Good Morning,
This past week staff was able to clean out on the remaining landscaping beds. We used the landscape vacuum to remove the river rock and old mulch in all of these areas. This material had been in the landscaping beds for the past 24 years. It was necessary to use pickaxes to break up the ground before we could vacuum all of the material. This process was very time consuming and it's nice to have this step completed.
The next step in the landscaping renovation will be to remove all of the existing weed barrier, plant materials, and rocks. This will be followed by adding new soil into the beds. In the Spring of 2026 we will add all of the new plant materials. Staff will also be repairing the rock walls on the waterfall landscaping behind #10 green. The landscaping areas next to #2 tees and behind #18 green will be removed later this Fall.
Our fairways were fertilized a little over a week ago followed by nightly irrigation cycles. You can really see the difference in the turfgrass condition and color. We did not mow the fairways and tees for one week in order to let the fertilizer work into the soil profile. Staff mowed the fairways and tees multiple times on Thursday to get them back to normal playing conditions. They really looked great as we headed into the weekend.
The remainder of the week staff was busy removing more ash trees from around the golf course. There were approximately 25 ash trees and a handful of other trees that need to be removed yet this season. We have been removing some of the smaller trees now and will move on to the larger trees in the month of October.
The Muni has a four person best shot coming up on October 5th followed by a two person senior best shot on Wednesday, October 8th. Our Chili Open will be held on October 19th and the final event of 2025 will be the Frigid Fall Four Person Best Shot on November 9th.
Our fall green fee special will be offered through the end of the 2025 golf season. All day golf with a rental cart for $35. There are also reduced green fee rates if you don't need to use a rental cart. You can also purchase your 2026 season pass and play the remainder of this golf season for no additional charge. Visit our website to sign up for automatic bank withdrawal payment for your 2026 season pass as well. This helps break that cost up into affordable monthly rates.
I hope you enjoy the remainder of this beautiful weekend and maybe we will see you at the golf course sometime soon. Please reach out if there are questions or the need for additional information.
