The Muni Update
Good Morning,

Another week is in the books at The Muni as school starts back up and the temperatures start to drop. We are fortunate to have great maintenance and clubhouse staff that love The Muni and all the golfers that visit us on a daily basis. With school back in session quite a few of our staff members will be going back to the classroom for another school year. Thank you to all the teachers on our team and thank you to the remaining staff continuing to provide a great golf course and friendly clubhouse atmosphere.
The end of this week has given us a little cooler temperature overnight and daytime highs are dropping as well. The humidity still remains very high every day. Growing conditions have slowed the past couple of days which should give us a little bit of a reprieve from mowing so much on a daily basis. It's been our main focus trying to stay on top of daily maintenance practices for most of the summer.
This past week our morning ladies league finished their golf season and the evening ladies league held their league tournament. We also hosted the ServPro annual First Responder golf outing on Friday. The Tuesday evening ladies league will hold their fun night on Tuesday. Men's golf leagues still have a couple more weeks in their season.
On Thursday we will be hosting the Spencer High School cross country meet to kick off their regular season. The golf course will be available until approximately 2:30 PM. Athletes will start arriving and walking their race route around 3:00 PM. The clubhouse will open for purchase of food and beverage items but no alcohol sales will be permitted.
August 31 will be the men's league golf tournament with tee times starting early in the morning. We will have open golf as soon as possible that morning. Golfers can call the clubhouse to find out tee time availability that morning.
This coming week we plan on starting to tackle the list of projects that need to be completed yet this season. Here is a list of some of those items:
  • Landscaping project beginning with landscapings by each tee box and expanding to the remaining areas.
  • Remove 25-30 ash trees affected by the Emerald Ash Borer
  • Treat our remaining ash trees with an insecticide to control the EAB
  • Painting the remaining tee signs
  • Edging sand traps

Starting on September 1, we will be starting our 2026 season pass special. The purchase of a 2026 season pass allows the golfer to play the remainder of the 2025 season for no additional cost. If the golfer would like to do automatic bank withdrawal, to break the cost up into monthly payments, the form can be found on our website after you sign into your account.
As we reach the end of August, remember we still have a lot of great Fall golf weather ahead of us. It's been a very busy 2025 golf season and we hope that pattern continues until the end of the season. We are very thankful for everyone that chooses to play at The Muni. You are definitely appreciated by all of the staff.
Enjoy the remainder of your weeknd by experiencing some of the sunshine and blue clear skies!
