The Muni Update
Jul 20, 2025

Good Morning,
This past week was definitely a challenge due to the amount of rain received which caused a lot of surface drainage across the entire golf course. The Muni had 1.5" of rain on Saturday, July 12, followed by 2.1" on Wednesday early morning, and finally 2.0" early Saturday morning.
Monday and Tuesday were busy days trying to complete daily maintenance practices and clean up after the weekend thunderstorm. The staff had the golf course in beautiful shape by the end of the day on Tuesday and Mother Nature paid us another visit.
The golf course was closed for the day on Wednesday due to the surface water flooding across most of the course. We were unable to access multiple holes due to the water draining or standing across most of the golf course.
On Thursday morning we started the process all over again. The golf course was surprisingly dried out more than I anticipated but still saturated soil conditions. The staff nailed the maintenance practices for a couple of days and we were excited to head into another busy weekend of golf at The Muni.
Saturday morning was not quite as much rain as we experienced on Wednesday, but it came very quickly. The soil conditions were still saturated from the previous storms and the golf course again became flooded from all of the surface drainage. The Hunting with Heroes golf event was canceled and the course was closed for the day.
Below are a couple pictures of the driving range and #13 the morning after each of the past two rain events:
The golf course was open for golf this morning but the driving range has remained closed due to the standing water. Staff will have another busy week getting the course back into quality playing condition as quickly as possible. Tomorrow I will be sharing the second video blog, to our website, sharing another golfer maintenance tip.
Please reach out if you have questions or would like additional information on a topic. Enjoy the remainder of the weekend, it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day!
