The Muni Update
Jul 6, 2025

Good Morning,
This past week was one of the busiest golf weeks we have ever experienced at The Muni. The first six days of the week we had filled tee times for most of the day, every day. We had our weekly scheduled golf leagues and only open golf on Monday thru Saturday. This morning we will be hosting a two couple scramble golf event. We have a great turnout of pre-registrants for this event.
With so many tee times scheduled every day, we have been very busy trying to keep up with our normal course maintenance practices. The weather conditions have been very favorable for growing grass and it is definitely growing.
Staff mowed fairways four times this past week, rough three times, tee boxes three times, greens seven days, and collars three times. There are also all of the other daily maintenance tasks that get completed. On the morning of the 4th of July we had non stop tee times from 6:48 AM through most of the day. We spent 32 maintenance staff hours mowing and completing our other daily setup tasks to be finished by 9:00 AM. A regular week day on the grounds amounts to approximately 64 maintenance staff hours. Fortunately, all of our staff members take a lot of pride in the finished product.
It's a balancing act trying to complete all our tasks in a timely manner at the same time our golfers are enjoying the golf course. We definitely ask the golfing public to please give maintenance staff the right of way while you are golfing. It might be 30 seconds to finish mowing or raking a sand trap and we will move on to the next hole. We're trying to complete all of our maintenance tasks in a timely manner so everyone can enjoy the game of golf.
This coming week we will be working on our parking lots and cart paths. Additional gravel will be added to these areas and they will be dragged and smoothed. We still have a master cart path plan for all the paths being addressed around the golf course but there is no current timeframe for that project. All capital improvement projects are on hold for each department of the city.
It is going to be another beautiful day at The Muni. If you're not able to swing into the golf course today, enjoy some sunshine and relaxation outdoors. Please reach out with any questions or the need for additional information.
