Good Morning,

This past week began with saturated turf conditions at The Muni. We received another 0.75 inches of rainfall on Wednesday night which left the golf course unplayable. The golf course was closed on Thursday and reopened on Friday morning for open golf.

Staff was very busy all week trying to catch up on daily maintenance practices. This process was difficult due to the saturated soil conditions and the grass growing rapidly. By the end of the week the golf course was in great condition as we headed into the weekend.

We hosted a small golf outing on Friday afternoon and had open golf during the day. There was also a rehearsal dinner in the clubhouse Friday evening. It was a very busy day with lots of golfers stopping by to enjoy the sunshine.

On Saturday, the wind was around 20 mph with sunshine all day long. This definitely helped alleviate the wet golf course conditions. It was a decent day for golf traffic.

Today, we are hosting the four person Rocktoberfest best shot event. There are 27 teams registered for the event. It looks like a great day for golf. Open golf will follow in the mid-afternoon.

The cart path overlay project is scheduled to start on October 26. Hopefully the course conditions will dry out to lessen the damage from 60,000 pound trucks hauling hot mix to all cart path areas around the golf course. The clubhouse surrounds and the cart path to the maintenance facility will be paved with asphalt during this project.

This will eliminate the rough cart path conditions in these areas. It is very important for golfers to utilize these cart paths moving forward to lessen damage from cart path traffic.

It looks like next week will bring us some great golf weather. There will be open golf everyday except on Wednesday when we host the senior two person best shot with a 10:00 AM shotgun start.

Please reach out with any questions or comments regarding The Muni. Enjoy the remainder of the weekend!
