Good Morning,

This past week the warm temperatures allowed us to open the driving range for a few more days. The range was open from February 14 thru February 18. It was great to see so many golfers practicing this early in the year. Players could also pay their 2026 golf fees. The cold weather has returned. We will monitor the driving range for opening dates as we move forward.

Warmer temperatures created an opportunity to remove the remaining fallen trees and branches from the golf course. These were hauled to the maintenance area and will eventually be taken to the tree site. A few additional tree stump areas were also cleaned up and prepared for black soil and seed.

The golf course has remained in very nice shape even with the lack of moisture and no snow cover for an extended period of time. There is a slight chance of precipitation this coming week but it likely won’t amount to much. I will be hauling water to some of the greens that have had issues the past few winters. This will help reduce the possibility of winter turf loss in these areas.

The irrigation pond is starting to lose a lot of its ice cover right now. That will hopefully allow us to operate the irrigation system as soon as weather conditions dictate. The fire department might also conduct ice rescue training on this pond in a couple of weeks.

This past week the city council approved the slight fee increases for season passes and punch cards. These price changes will go into effect this coming week. You can still pay your 2026 fees online or stop in the clubhouse early in the week.

Please enjoy the remainder of your weekend. You can reach out with any questions or the need for additional information on a topic at The Muni!
