Good Morning,

The month of January has involved a lot of preparation for the 2026 golf season and also some time off work to spend with my family. The end of January is less than a week away and we are inching closer to the 2026 golf season. That actual start date is always unknown and is totally determined by Mother Nature. We have opened the driving range in February in prior years and the first week of March have been golfing. Some years that start date is delayed into April. Time will tell…

In review, the 2025 golf season was another busy one for our staff and golfers. It was a record season with an estimated total of 31,000+ rounds of golf being played. A busy golf course keeps our staff members on their toes each day working to provide a high quality golf course and enjoyable golf experience. The clubhouse staff spent 3294 hours and our maintenance team was busy manicuring the course for 6766 hours in 2025.

I am very appreciative to have a great golf course team that works together with a lot of pride and dedication. The personal touch they each portray to their daily tasks is very apparent. Thank you can never be spoken enough for the great job each one of them does for the golf course.

My main focus this month has been mostly administrative. Here is a list of the some of the items that have been a priority during the month of January:

  • Updating the clubhouse and golf course rules and policies. These updates are currently waiting for approval by the city attorney.
  • The 2026/27 budget and five year Capital Improvement Plan have been submitted and are waiting review and discussion.
  • Updating safety policies for the grounds and clubhouse employees. These updates will be a part of the onboarding process each season.
  • The 2026 golf course event schedule is updated weekly as dates are confirmed and discussion had with groups from the 2025 season.
  • The cart path renovation plan continues to be a point of discussion.

We have hosted several events in the clubhouse during the month of January. There has been a lot of positive feedback from these groups and they continue to reserve the same date each year for their event.

This upcoming week I will be spending my time working in the maintenance facility and continuing to focus on some of the administration work going on right now.

The February golf board meeting will have 2026 rates on the agenda. The proposal is for a slight increase in our season passes. These increases will be $5 for youth, $10 young adult, $15 single, $20 couple, and $25 for a family membership. Currently all our fees are available online at the 2025 price structure.

The extreme cold temperatures and windy conditions are always a concern when there is no snow cover on the golf course. We have experienced winter turf damage each of the past few years. Currently the golf course looks to be in nice shape as we begin to end the month of January. I will continue to monitor the course conditions as we move forward.

Please enjoy the remainder of the weekend. If there are questions or the need for further information please reach out to me. Stay safe and warm today!
