Good Morning,

Another week has quickly passed us by as we enjoy a beautiful Memorial Day Weekend at The Muni. Saturday was extremely busy, and we look forward to a busy Sunday of golf as well. The staff and I would like to wish everyone a very happy Memorial Day weekend. As we remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Thank you to past and present military members for being our heroes!

This past week I had my first meeting with the engineers at Kruse, Cate, and Nelson to discuss the cart path project scheduled for this Fall at The Muni. We are in the early stages of this process and plan additional meetings in the weeks ahead. Our current goal is to complete this project in the month of October. Those exact details won’t be known until conversations with potential contractors occur. This long-overdue project’s planning process excites me. I will share more information as we move forward.

This past week staff was busy completing our daily maintenance tasks. We spent significant time trimming and mowing to get the golf course into beautiful playing condition. Heavy rainfall on Friday forced us to extend our mowing tasks into the weekend. The tee sheet was booked solid yesterday and it’s the same so far this morning.

The heavy rainfall has saturated our soil, left standing water in our sand traps, and pooled water in low-lying areas of the golf course. Please use good judgment when driving carts around the golf course. The golf course is in great shape but it remains very wet.

The easternmost tile on hole #13 was exposed a couple of weeks ago. This past week, we continued working on this tile and discovered additional tile not on our map. The tile was jetted and everything appears to be operating correctly. One more section will be exposed in this area followed by repairing the damaged areas. All tiles will be operational at that time.

An update for clubhouse merchandise: new golf hats for The Muni have been ordered and will hopefully be in our inventory very soon. New lightweight 1/4 zip long sleeves will also arrive soon. We appreciate all the golfers who wear our golf attire during the season.

Our new plant materials will arrive on Wednesday. Staff will be busy pulling weeds from the newly renovated landscaping areas to prepare for new plantings. We also plan to finish installing the new landscaping by the blue tee on #5 and update the landscaping at the #10 waterfall. These areas will be a main focus next week. It’s very exciting to see the progress in our landscaping areas. We are still looking for a few more volunteers to adopt a flower bed.

By the end of next week all of our seasonal employees will be back and available for the 2026 golf season. Our staff has four new hires in the clubhouse this season. They are currently training to serve our customers daily. Our grounds staff has all returning members for the 2026 season. These team members range from having one season of work to a couple with 30 years of dedication at The Muni!. A very big thank you to all the staff for their commitment to the golf course.
