Good Morning,

The maintenance staff has continued multiple projects. Most of these tasks were scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2025, but we ran out of time. Here is a list of some of those projects we have been working on:

  1. Edging sand traps and measuring sand depths. The driving range traps still need edging. New sand will be available for delivery in the next few weeks.
  2. Tree cleanup. All stump areas have been completed and will be overseeded. We have also finished addressing some damaged trees around the golf course. Pruning and cleanup of the bushes are complete.
  3. Landscaping areas. This week, the priority has been finishing the removal of weed barrier, debris, and any remaining plant materials. New plant materials will arrive in the month of May.

Weather patterns have continued to be erratic. Staff mowed the golf course greens this morning for the first time of the 2026 season. Mowing frequencies won’t hit the normal routine until the actual growing season starts in May. Currently there is no grass growth and we are trying to maintain a clean golf course without creating a threat of damage to the turfgrass.

It was another difficult Winter and it always keeps us on the edge of our seats to see how the bentgrass pulls through the offseason. The grass looks decent right now even though it lacks the beautiful green color seen later in the season.

During the construction of our 18 hole golf course in 1999, we chose Providence Bentgrass for the surface of our new greens. This was a very popular choice in the late 1990s. It’s a quality turfgrass, but one drawback is that it takes a lot of time to emerge from winter dormancy. Constant monitoring of the greens is necessary to ensure adequate irrigation as we move into the growing season.

Today is the final day to purchase your 2026 season pass and be entered into the drawing for gift certificates to The Muni. You can make that payment online through your profile or stop by the clubhouse. Six winners will be chosen at random to receive a $50 gift certificate usable during the 2026 season. The staff and I thank you for choosing to spend your recreational time with us. We enjoy seeing you all season.

Please reach out with any questions or if you need additional information. It’s a warm day to enjoy the sunshine or sitting back to watch The Masters is a solid option too.
