Good Morning,
This past week started with a blizzard, so golf wasn’t on our minds. Staff spent the early part of the week clearing snow then picking up branches and other debris from the course following the storm.
On Wednesday, the snow slowly started leaving the golf course. Sunshine and warmer temperatures helped speed up the process but we were still delayed from our expected opening on Thursday. Although there was still quite a bit of snow on the golf course, we were able to open the driving range.
Staff managed to mow the tees, place the tee markers, and position the majority of the amenity items on the golf course in time to open Friday morning at 11:00. A great turnout of golfers was excited to start the 2026 golf season.
Saturday brought even more beautiful weather and the golfers’ tee times were filled until late in the afternoon. It ranked as one of the busiest days The Muni has ever experienced. It was great to see so many people stopping by to spend some time with us. Many of our local golfers were joined by players traveling from all over the place to play.
The golf course was extremely busy, so playing a round took longer than expected. Each season the total rounds of golf we play keeps increasing. The days of playing a round of golf in three hours are most likely over. It’s also important to remember that foursomes have priority on the golf course. Groups of one or two will wait. Joining a smaller group will make the process go a lot smoother.
The staff and I are very excited to start the golf season. We are very thankful for each one of you who chooses to spend your recreational time at The Muni. It looks like we will have some colder temperatures for a few days but the golf course will remain available unless an announcement is made on social media.
